Goal
The NYAAA aims to promote human rights in Ethiopia through policy initiatives, build a cohesive Amhara community, and develop community services for the Amhara people. It also provides financial support, safety, and shelter to the millions of displaced Amharas. The organization exposes the Ethiopian government's ethnic cleansing and genocide, counters misrepresentations of the Amhara people, and defends their rights as guaranteed by international human rights laws. It arranges humanitarian assistance in health, education, economy, and culture, and seeks collaboration with Amhara-based organizations to establish an Amhara umbrella organization.
ARTICLE 6 OBJECTIVES
Despite the broad purpose mentioned in Article 5 above, the objectives of NYAAA consist of the following:
6.1 To promote human rights in Ethiopia through policy initiatives for government reform, research, advocacy, and diplomacy.
6.2 To build a solid and cohesive Amhara community based on mutual love and respect, which upholds the Ethiopian people's long history of coexistence.
6.3 Promote and work on community services for Amhara people through training, advisory, and mobilizing the Amhara based civic and regional organizations for the common good.
6.3 Encourage and develop community services for Amhara people by advising, training, and organizing regional and civic groups with an Amhara base for the greater benefit.
6.4 Give the Amhara people financial support, safety, and shelter, especially for the millions of displaced who are at risk of malnourishment and disease.
6.5 Describe how the Ethiopian government and other parties carried out the ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Amhara people. Expose radicals who disseminate hate speech directed towards the Amhara people.Draw the attention of international entities, the African Union, the United Nations, nations, Amnesty International, and other human rights organizations to the predicament of the Amhara people.
6.6 Counter the misrepresentation of the Amhara people as "neftegna," "expansionist,” and "oppressor," based on newly fabricated and erroneous narratives. Present the true history of Amhara to the Ethiopian people and the people of the world at large.
6.7 Support and defend the rights of the Amhara people living inside and outside of the Amhara region, as guaranteed by the international human rights laws.
6.8 Arrange humanitarian assistance in the areas of health, education, economy, culture, etc. to assist Amharas in the Amhara region and other regions of Ethiopia.
6.9 Seek for points of agreement and collaborate with all Amhara-based organizations. Start and contribute to the establishment of an Amhara umbrella organization that will be able to organize and comparatively consolidate the aid provided to the Amhara people.
